COVID-19 has disrupted our lives like never before, but probably no one has been more adversely impacted than our older population. Not only are older adults at a higher risk for health complications if infected with COVID-19, but they also face detrimental health effects resulting from social isolation, loneliness and inactivity, which can cause depression, anxiety, worsen cardiovascular disease as well as increase the speed of cognitive decline.

Our center has put in place extensive preventative measures aimed to protect our participants and staff while at the center; however, as with any other communicable disease, it is not possible to eliminate all risks. Participants and their families must carefully weigh the risks and benefits of attending the center during these challenging times.
